Benefits

Another way to contribute to the preservation and enhancement of the Mauvide-Genest Manor is to become a member of the Mauvide-Genest Manor Foundation or, if you are already a member, to renew your membership. Our members provide invaluable support. Their financial contributions and volunteer work help maintain the vitality and sustainability of our non-profit organization.

Being a member means:

promoting the conservation and enhancement of local and national heritage, supporting activities and projects that are important to you,
getting actively involved in the local community if you wish,
contributing to the growth and development of the Mauvide-Genest Manor Foundation… all while having fun!

This also includes the following benefits:

free and unlimited access to the Manor throughout the season,
a 15% discount on all purchases in the boutique and on activities in our cultural program, and a special invitation to our exhibition openings and cultural events.

Your donation, no matter how small, will make a difference in fulfilling our mission. Every donation contributes to site accessibility, the upkeep of the Manor and its grounds, and the promotion of historical knowledge in all its forms.

Note that the Manoir Mauvide-Genest Foundation issues tax receipts for any cash or property donation of $20 or more.

Donating Collectibles or Archival Documents

The Mauvide-Genest Manor Foundation holds a collection of objects, photographs, and archival documents relating to the history of the building and its occupants over the centuries. If you believe you possess objects or documents that could be added to this collection and would like to donate them, please contact us at info@manoirmauvidegenest.com.

What a magnificent manor! Another heritage treasure to discover and preserve. Its construction dates back to 1734, during the era of New France. Inside, you’ll find numerous beautifully curated exhibits: reconstructions, collections of artifacts, explanatory panels, and videos. The passage of time hasn’t diminished the beauty of the place. The charm and history behind the manor have been carefully preserved. The spirit of its former owners still lingers.

A must-see if you’re on Île d’Orléans. This elegant 1700s mansion is beautifully restored. A self-guided tour is available, explaining everything in detail, and there are also excellent written presentations in both French and English. Three floors—visit them all!

I really enjoyed the tour (with the audio guide), the history, the fact that you can visit all the floors, the garden, and the apothecary’s section with the labels indicating the herbs, vegetables, and fruits! I highly recommend a stop at the Manor! The tour price is very affordable! And you can see everything quite quickly, so it’s convenient for continuing to explore the island afterward!
